Melissa Mermin’s approach to weddings is to withdraw into the background to capture spontaneous and fun candid moments, telling a great visual story. “Weddings in historic wineries are some of my favorites places, and the golden afternoon light in Napa is nothing like I’ve seen in other parts. I can’t wait to capture the natural beauty.”

Since many of her clients have destination weddings, she is often commissioned to cover festivities before the wedding like rehearsal dinners, excursions and Sunday farewell dinners. She spends several days creating a custom designed Love Story, an online photo show with the couple favorite music.

Melissa divides her time between the bay area and New England/New York. She is always available for a phone interview if you can’t meet personally. You may have seen her images in Grace Ormonde, Inside Weddings and The Knot, and she is featured in the upcoming book, Wedding Photography Unveiled: Inspiration and insight from 20 Top Photographers.
